Butterfly Effect 3 Revelations

Last night I watched Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations
with the family. I was excited to see this 3rd installment as I am a big fan of the series, especially the first Butterfly Effect movie. I have to admit, I barely remember the 2nd one, so may need to rewatch that one soon. I’m not sure if that is due to my bad memory, or if it wasn’t worth remembering. This movie is hard to categorize, contains elements from the genres of sci fi, horror, mystery and psychological thriller.

The main character/jumper in the movie (I think his name was Sam?) is making a living from his gift. I personally do not see anything wrong with that. I mean really, if people had a gift like his (and who knows, maybe someone does?) I am sure someone would find a way to make a buck off of it. And I don’t know that there is anything wrong with that, as long as you work for the good guys. He starts off doing the right things, until he gets sucked into some drama from his past. That’s when he starts breaking the rules and goofing things up.

I’ve hear that this movie got some bad reviews, and I personally do not know why? It stays true to the original idea of the first movie, while still carving its own niche. The only actor/ actress I recognized was the secretary from Californication, but the movie did not suffer from the lack of big names as the acting was respectable. Although I did suspect the ending before the end came, the movie is full of twists and turns, so it keeps you guessing!

I highly recommend this movie!
